Attar Singh, a folk singer from Shamli village

Meet Attar Singh, and he comes from Shamli village in Uttar Pradesh. In his town, he works as a seasonal worker and every summer he travels alone to the holy city of Haridwar.

 

He says he comes to Haridwar for a glimpse (Darsana) of mother Ganges and to do only one thing: to sing folksongs on the life of Lord Shiva and his wife, Parvati.
